Velvet is not working on Google Docs

Google Docs uses canvas rendering for the document body. Velvet has dedicated logic for it, but a page reload is sometimes needed after toggling dark mode. If it looks broken, refresh the tab.

The text cursor in Google Docs is hard to see

Velvet inverts the cursor colour so it stays visible against the dark background. If you still cannot see it, ensure you are running version 1.4.0 or later.

Dark mode is not turning on

1. Open Safari → Settings → Extensions and confirm Velvet is checked.
2. Click the Velvet icon in the Safari toolbar.
3. Toggle the site switch on for the current website.

If the toolbar icon is missing, go to View → Customize Toolbar and drag Velvet onto it.

How do I change the keyboard shortcut?

Open the Velvet popup → click the gear icon → Settings → Keyboard Shortcut. Default is ⌘⇧E.

Does Velvet work on iOS or iPadOS?

Not yet. Velvet is macOS only.
